# 3 Feed Me, I'm Hungry
I have had a fabulous summer and realized that I have not worked on my 23 Things on a Stick for well over a month! Oops! RSS has been in conversations I've had for the past year, but just couldn't wrap my brain around it! The posts and video that were presented on 23 Things on a Stick really helped pound the concept in!!!! I added over 14 feeds to my list, both professional and personal. I am looking forward to keeping on top of them. I do need to get into the habit of checking the website blogline.com to keep on top of it all, which is a challenge all its own. How do arrange to have my computer flash or beep or something whenever their is something new? That would be helpful at home but probably not in the media center or classroom. I am still not certain how I could use RSS with my students in the media center. I work with K-6th grade students and see each class only every other week for about 30 minutes. Any suggestions??

#2 Library 2.0 - What a ride!!!
I have recently completed my degree for Library Media to allow me to move from the pubic library to the public school. This topic of changing the physical aspect of the library and the mindset of the library staff was a huge topic in many of my classes. It was really scary when I first started thinking about how rapidly the library is changing. Will my job be obsolete in 10 years? Yikes! But the more I learned (and continue to learn) about this incredible profession, the more excited I became that librarians will not become extinct, but rise to the occasion and really lead the way! Many are already taking the library into the next level. The more I learn the more excited I become about the Library 2.0 movement! I am still a newbie, but have the drive and desire to learn all that I can to continue to help my students see the library as a great place to be! I am noticing that everything happens a bit slower in the schools. And my staff is not as excited about the changes a'comin' as I am. I feel my best teachers are my students (I'm in an elementary school) and my daughters! All of the technology and instant info gathering comes so naturally to them...like its their native language!!!!!

Looks like we've made it!!!
Well, I finally have my very own blog... I feel so technical! I am really looking forward to participating in the 23 Things on a Stick program and making more sense of the technical world. I know that my daughters, ages 8 and 11, with be able to help me with many things. I want to learn more about what's happening with technology for by professional career and to keep up with my kids! I am really looking forward to moving on to step 2!!!
